Fabio Hair

Michael was excited about his press deal today. He was going to some comic book store in Vancouver - but that wasn't the good part. The good part was that he got to do it with Allison. So many times he had to be with Tom and Kristin, and that could get a little tiring. Especially with Tom's incessant need to be *out* of the spotlight and Kristin's constant need to be *in* it, Michael was usually exhausted after an hour with the both of them.

Allison was different, though. She was fun and exciting, and she always had a good time. Just like Michael. They never got to do scenes together, and rarely hung out, so Michael really looked forward to things like this when they happened.

He'd turned down the limo and was driving himself. He pulled into the parking lot at the shop and found a spot. He checked himself out in the review mirror and smiled. He always looked good.

Allison was already there. He recognized her car. Sneaking in was the fun part. There was already a line. He pulled a hat from the glove box, shoved his sunglasses on and pulled a light jacket from the back seat. Sometimes this worked.

He managed to make it inside without too many people grabbing him. All of those hands on him half excited him and half disgusted him.

There were probably germs on everything, and Michael always felt a little sick after something like this. The shop itself was empty. A table was set up for the autographs, but Allison was towards the back looking at something, so Michael headed back to join her.

"Boo!" He greeted her with a hug and laughed when she punched him on the arm.

"Don't do that! Surprising me like that… You're lucky I didn't kick you."

Michael laughed and looked around. "So what's the deal? Are there pictures or something?"

Allison made a face and nodded. "Yeah, they want to get us reading the Smallville comic. That thing is just bad. I mean, have you read it? The art is just laughable and the stories themselves are utter crap."

Grinning, Michael shook his head. "I've never actually read one of them."

She held up the comics in her hands. "Here's the one with me and Sam - and look at this!" She pointed to one of the pictures inside. "This is supposed to be me! Look at that hair! That's not Chloe."

Michael rolled his eyes.

"Oh, you're rolling your eyes at me? Well look at this one. This is one of the pictures inside of the one with you on the cover." She opened a different book to a page towards the back and Michael covered his mouth to hold back the laughter.

"Is that Lionel? And Me? Do I have boobs? What the hell is that?"

Giggling, Allison nodded. "I think it's supposed to be a bald Lillian."

Michael pulled the book from her hands and started flipping pages. "That is practically obscene. Lionel with his Fabio hair and Lillian -- Lex's mom isn't supposed to be bald! That's just crazy!"

"I know! See what I mean?"

Michael flipped a few more pages and wasn't paying attention when the shop owner came in.

"Ah, Michael. Allison. I see you've already found the comics. You won't mind posing for a few photos, would you?"

Michael barely refrained from rolling his eyes again. He and Allison did a few shots, them looking down at the books, holding them up and pointing to the covers. Silly little things, really.

After not too long, the shop guy, whose name was apparently Tom and the irony of that didn't fail to hit Michael between the eyes there either, finally finished and ushered them to a table set up midway through the store. Pens and markers littered the top and there was a small pile of each of their headshots.

Sitting down, Michael looked over at Allison and smiled. "I'm going to have to get that comic more often. That was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time."

Allison grinned back and said, "If you think that's funny, you should see some of the pictures online. They do some great things with Photoshop and pictures of you and Tom."

Michael's jaw dropped and another camera flashed. Michael really hoped that one with his mouth wide open didn't get out anywhere. He could just imagine what would come of that.
